About Mindset & Manners Dog Training

(Here are some facts about us!)

Methods and Philosophy for Training

Training Philosophy:

I do not envy anyone looking for a dog trainer in this current day and age. It can be exhausting and overwhelming. There are many conflicting opinions, different sources to consider, and a dizzying amount of different philosophies and methods that all seem to contradict each other. I sincerely hope you are able to find the right path that fits with your particular lifestyle and dog needs...

My GOAL is to be the last place you need to look in order to build a life you love with your dog.

My modern and evidence based methods concentrate on enhancing the human-canine bond while creating a well rounded understanding of how to clearly communicate and respect each others needs and wants.

What I Believe:

I am a firm believer that dog training is not a ‘one size fits all’ field of expertise. Each dog has their own unique personality, temperament and distinct connection with their owners that requires an approach that will ‘see the dog in front of us’.

We will build a training plan that is adaptable as we progress to be able to produce the best possible results.

Combining my 10+ years of studying under various animal behaviorists, industry-leading dog trainers as well as attending numerous seminars, workshops, IACP conferences along with teaching my own training seminars for veterinary offices, dog daycare facilities, rescues and shelters throughout Texas has taught me a lengthy list of skills and deep understanding of dog psychology.

My passion is helping you understand your dog fully in order to live harmoniously and know with confidence you are doing your best for your dog.

Customized Approach:

The MOST important aspect to understand is that every dog is unique and distinct. We MUST approach each dog and owner as such.

Utilizing proven methods with varying rewards and fair consequences that provides clear communication to our dogs, we will be able to find the best program and approach to build lifestyle-fitting manners while nurturing a healthy mindset of our dogs.

I want to help build your relationship through:

  • Realistic daily practices

  • Attainable goals and homework

  • Providing an understanding of freedom that is safe and exhilarating for your dog

I will teach you:

  • To be flexible yet consistent

  • To communicate clearly

  • To create inspiration in your dog to engage with you

  • Have positive experiences on whatever adventure you take with your dog

  • To understand the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’ while reaching your training goals
